Colorado Hidden Gem : Paint Mines Interpretive Park
📍 where it is—
45 mins outside of Colorado Springs. Easily doable in the same day as Pike’s Peak & Garden of the Gods Park
🐇 what you’ll see—
bunnies and beautiful colors! The walk around the mines is beautiful with lots of rocks in varying pastel colors, and you’ll probably see a couple tiny animals
☀️ make sure you—
go here at golden hour!! The dusky sunset glow on these rocks are magical.
🌿 so you know—
the Paint Mines Interpretive Park is about an hour from anything else worth seeing and you’ll take a lot of country roads to get there (if you have the right vibey playlist though, the drive is everything!!). It’s peaceful and gorgeous. FYI there isn’t a bathroom within a close vicinity and you will need to walk a bit to get back to the mines, so work that into your travels or be prepared to go in a bush...watch out for rattlesnakes though!!
